A St. Cloud, Florida woman was sentenced to a year in jail for taking a selfie of herself at the 1/6 Washington Rally.
The charge?
Destroying government records after she deleted it from her phone.
Democrats are scum.
The woman in question, Traci Isaacs, 54, who, according to federal prosecutors, rioted with the Oath Keepers, posted the following message to a social media account: "It was glorious but kinda [expletive] up. We should have done this differently. We should have occupied the Capitol with demands."
Isaacs' acknowledgment of the group's lack of demands is critical to understanding that contrary to the belief of many, "January 6" was not a coup, attempted or otherwise. Although the violent mob that stormed the Capital Building acted in support of Donald Trump's desire to nullify Biden's election, its participants didn't attempt a coup. They were unorganized, made no demands beyond a vague "We want Trump," and, most importantly, lacked military support.
Indeed, once inside, the overwhelmingly white, middle-income workers and small-scale capitalists did nothing more than seize the dais, mindlessly rifle through random papers, and pretend to engage in telephone conversations. In brief, they were childish, self-entitled individuals who perceived a threat to their relative privilege and little more.
In other words, most of those people were relatively well-off individuals who had too much to lose to want to jeopardize themselves financially or personally by engaging in something approximating a revolution. Consider that many of them afforded to travel great distances during the workweek and in the early portion of the pandemic to participate in the riot. At least one of them traveled to D.C. via private jet.
Indeed, these weekend "warriors" with their "Don't Tread on Me" flags, tactical rifles, skull crusher headgear, night-vision goggles, etc., seem to be some of the most uneducated, slavishly obsequious, and malleable individuals on Earth. There are even a few running around where I reside in their $100k pickup trucks, complete with "Trump 2024" paint wraps. It's laughable. They likely wouldn't risk a simple assault charge toward "fighting" their perceived enemies because they have too much to lose.
It's good to see that Ms. Isaccs understands the nature of her "movement."
